Community Advocacy

Pakistan is located at a place on the globe which bears the brunt of two major weather systems. One can cause high temperatures and drought, like the heatwave in March last year, and the other brings monsoon rains.
Pakistan contributes less than 1% of the global greenhouse gas emissions but yet, every year we keep on climbing up the ladder of climate vulnerability. According to the long-term German Watch index, Pakistan is constantly among top 10 climate vulnerable countries. For Pakistan, it is a colossal challenge to achieve its sustainable development goals without compromising on its socio-economic development needs. Building resilience and adaptation to climate change is becoming indispensable for Pakistan.

The adverse impacts of climate change are increasingly evident in Pakistan, with rising temperatures, erratic weather patterns, and depleting natural resources. Community advocacy is crucial for bringing positive change in people’s attitudes, and practices leading to addressing climate change issues in Pakistan.
